Spelling: Spelling in English is not something that you can know by knowing only rules. There are more exceptions than rules! BUT, there are some things that can make it (a bit) easier. You can find lots more spelling stuff below.
BEWARE: PRACTICALLY EVERYTHING I TELL YOU WILL HAVE SOME EXCEPTION....ENGLISH IS CRAZY!!!!

| CVC rules |
If a syllable is CVC, the vowel is usually short.
When adding a suffix beginning with a vowel, the second C must be doubled: red - redder; swim - swimming. |

If a syllable has this format, the vowel is usually long.That is why the animal "tiger" is spelled with only one "g" - ti-ger, and rabbit, needs 2 "b's" - rab-bit. |
